Bluebird Leaders was founded by Rebecca Woods, MHA, after spending more than two decades in healthcare technology and leadership. Throughout her career—from implementing electronic health records to serving as a hospital CIO and executive advisor—Rebecca experienced firsthand the power of mentorship, collaboration, and having people who genuinely believed in your success.
She also saw the opposite.
Too many talented leaders, especially women, were navigating their careers alone. Networking often felt transactional. Finding mentors was difficult. Opportunities weren't always visible, and many leaders lacked a community where they could ask honest questions, share challenges, celebrate wins, and simply belong.
Rebecca believed there had to be something better.
She created Bluebird Leaders to build the kind of community she wished existed throughout her own career—a place where leaders could connect authentically, learn from one another, lift each other up, and grow together. A place where competitors become collaborators, introductions become lifelong friendships, and every member has the opportunity to both mentor and be mentored.
Founded in 2022, Today, Bluebird Leaders is more than a nonprofit organization. It's a movement built on one simple belief: Left as we Rise
“At Bluebird Leaders, our role is to guide women working in information technology & healthcare information technology as they spread their wings and fly.”
